Macro post-sweat bars

Macro post-sweat bars

my go-to snack:
macro + raw granola bars.

QUICK + EASY NUTRITION. These are a must-have and staple in our household.

I love having these in the fridge and grabbing a bar after a long and hectic morning of work, after a training session or when jetting off to an appointment. Easy to make and easy to switch ingredients in/out!

They are jam-packed with healthy fats, protein and natural sugar - making them a great snack mid-day and post workout snack.

In a large bowl, combine the following dry ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds (SOAK PRIOR TO ADDING, when expanded and gooey, ready to add!)

  • 1/2 cup flax seeds

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

  • A big shake of Spirulina Powder

  • 1 scoop of Barlean’s Chocolate Antioxidant Greens Powder

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • A dollop of raw honey (optional)

  • 2-4 tablespoons melted coconut oil (start with the smaller amount, if more moisture is needed, add more!)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • A few spoonfuls of coconut manna (butter) - I like to leave the coconut manna at a harder consistency so I get bites of it throughout

  • Handful of blueberries (I try to squish these when all ingredients are combined). I switch it up and add raspberries or banana sometimes!

Rough chop, and add to the bowl:

  • 3-4 dates (rough chop)

  • Chocolate 95% ^ (rough chop)

Set the bowl aside, and add these to the blender, pulse until a powder texture.

  • 1/2 cup sprouted almonds

  • 1/2 cup sprouted walnuts

  • 1/4 cup sprouted cashews

Add the nut powder to the bowl, hand mix all ingredients together into a wet mixture.

To form the bars:

Grab a baking sheet, and cover with parchment paper.

Pour mixture onto the baking sheet and flatten until evenly spread out.

Stick it in the fridge.

Once hardened, cut pieces and break apart.

Store in a container for up to a week in the fridge.
